BOURNE, Mass.—The Braves (10-6-1) dropped Wednesday night’s game against the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox (8-9,) 4-1.

Brady Miller (Western Oregon) got the loss in a 4 1-3 performance, allowing three earned runs off seven hits, two walks and four strikeouts.

Y-D strung together singles and capitalized on a balk by Miller for a three-run third inning; and continued to hit Braves’ pitching through the bullpen to rack up 12 hits.

The bats were quiet Wednesday against Will Gaddis (Furman,) who went eight innings allowing no earned runs off three hits, walking one and striking out six.

Y-D held Bourne to just four hits on the night, coming from Jake Mangum (Mississippi State,) Justin Yurchak (Binghamton,) Willy Yahn (UConn) and Evan Mendoza (NC State.)

Yurchak tripled to right-center in the bottom of the fourth and was stranded on the base paths, something that happened five times on the night.

Former Brave, Tyler Houston (Butler) continued to be a menace for Bourne, going 3 for 5 with an RBI and a run scored paired with a diving play in right.

The Braves avoided the shutout and attempted a rally in the ninth off reliever Calvin Faucher (California Irvine) when Yahn singled in Connor Wong (Houston) for the Braves’ first run of the game.

They were unable to continue the offense as Faucher struck out David MacKinnon (Hartford) for the final out.

Thursday is an off day on the Cape as the Braves head into the holiday weekend facing the Brewster Whitecaps (9-8) 6, Friday at Doran Park, and a two-game series against the Wareham Gatemen (9-7-1) Saturday and Sunday.

Probable starting pitchers for the Braves are AJ Moore (Kennesaw State,) Patrick Raby (Vanderbilt) and Dominic Taccolini (Arkansas.)
