YARMOUTH-DENNIS, Mass.–The Bourne Braves (11-13-1) dropped their sixth consecutive game Saturday night at Red Wilson Field to the Y-D Red Sox (15-10,) 3-1.

The offense continued to struggle, leaving another eight on base with six hits.

Four of those hits came from David MacKinnon (Hartford) and Jeremy Eireman (Missouri State,) who both went 2 for 4, with Eireman hitting a double in the fifth to advance Elih Marrero (Mississippi State) to third. The Braves were unable to advance Marrero further as Jake Mangum (Mississippi State) grounded out to short for the third out.

Braves’ starter Patrick Raby (Vanderbilt) went 4 1-3 innings giving up three earned runs off six hits, two walks and two strikeouts.

LSU’s Doug Norman came in relief and pitched 2 2-3 innings of hitless baseball, with one walk and one strikeout.

Sean Leland (Louisville) closed the eighth, posting zeros in his one frame of work and holding the Braves in reach of a potential comeback.

The comeback never came as Bryan Pall (Michigan) was able to induce two fly balls and a strikeout to Eireman for the last out.

The Braves look to snap their six game winning streak 6, Sunday at home as they face the Y-D Red Sox in the second of their two-game series.

The probables are Jared Janczak (TCU) and Bourne’s Michael Dibrell (Kennesaw State.)
