BOURNE, Mass.—The Braves (5-1) came roaring back Thursday night against the Chatham Anglers (3-3) in a 12-4 win after being beat 8-3 the night before.

It looked like another Chatham victory as the Anglers scored four in the first off starting pitcher JT Perez (Cincinnati,) who pitched four innings giving up four earned runs off four hits.

After the fourth inning, Perez settled in and struck out five and walked two.

The offense was clicking on all cylinders as Braves’ hitters combined for 19 hits. Nine of those hits came off starting pitcher Simon Matthews (Georgetown) who went five innings giving up three earned runs while striking out two.

Although the Braves were able to get to Matthews the second time around the order, they were unable to bring runners around the bases-leaving 12 stranded on the night.

Run production started in the fourth, when David MacKinnon (Hartford) roped a single, which was followed by a bunt from Toby Handley (Stony Brook) that rolled fair down the third baseline.

Leadoff Connor Wong (Houston) went 4 for 6 on the night with two RBI.

The Braves’ middle of the lineup combined to go 7 for 12, driving in four runs and scoring five.

Bourne broke away in the sixth, when UCLA Bruin Moises Ceja loaded the bases and gave up four earned runs off a series of wild pitches with bases loaded.

Connor Moore (Seattle) came in relief and surrendered an additional two earned runs in what amounted to a six-hit, six-run inning.

Braves’ reliever Christian Taugner (Brown) received the win. He pitched two innings of one-hit baseball and struck out one.

The Braves wrap up the homestand Friday against the Orleans Firebirds (4-2). Probable pitchers are Eli Morgan (Gonzaga) for Orleans and Braves’ David Drouin (Hartford.) Then they head on the road to Y-D’s (1-5) Red Wilson Field on Saturday and return home Sunday to face the Brewster Whitecaps (2-4.)
